Ronald Berenson, MD, Founder, President and CEO and Board Member
Dr. Berenson is a serial entrepreneur, who has served as President and CEO of KitoTech Medical from 2013 until the present. He has over 30 years of experience in the biomedical industry and has founded and served as CEO of several biomedical ventures (CellPro, Xcyte, HemaQuest, Aequus) including two NASDAQ-listed companies. He is a graduate of Stanford University and Yale Medical School and was a member of the faculty at the University of Washington.
Edward R. Truitt, III, JD, Chairman of the Board
Ed is a life sciences entrepreneur, investor, and board member. He is CEO of Lubris BioPharma which is developing a therapeutic protein for dry eye and inflammation-related conditions. Mr. Truitt is co-founder of Biological Dynamics, a developer of oncology diagnostics, and he serves on the Board of Sound Life Sciences. Previously, Ed practiced corporate law, focusing on business formation and technology licensing. Mr. Truitt received his JD from University of San Diego and BA from UC Santa Barbara.
Paul Leung, MS, PE, VP, Operations
Paul has 20 years of experience in product and technology development as well as manufacturing in various industries, including several medical device companies. He currently serves as the Vice President of Operations of KitoTech Medical, where he is responsible for development and manufacturing. Paul received his Bachelor of Engineering degree with Honors at Imperial College London, and a Master of Science degree at Columbia University.
Laura Audell, MD, Medical Advisor
Laura is a pain medical specialist who is one of the leaders in the field of pain management. She has been in practice for over 30 years and currently serves as Vice Chair of Pain Management and Anesthesia at one of the three largest healthcare systems in Southern California. She completed residencies in internal medicine and anesthesia followed by a pain management fellowship at UCLA.
John Canady, MD, DSc, Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board
John is a leading plastic surgeon who was previously Vice President of Medical Affairs at Johnson & Johnson, where he was employed for 10 years. Prior to J&J, he served on the faculty at the University of Iowa in the Departments of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, and Orthopedic Surgery for over 20 years. He is the former President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has BS and DSc Degrees from Grinnell College, and an MD from the University of Iowa.
Robert Audell, MD, Medical Advisor
Robert was in practice as an orthopedic surgeon for over 25 years. He has a strong background in treating painful musculoskeletal disorders such as back and knee pain. He has a BS degree from the University of Southern California and an MD degree from UCLA. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at UCLA.
